Country Squire Motor Inn Reviews

We stayed at the Country Squire this past weekend on a spur-of-the-moment plant buying trip to Lancaster County and we were very happy with our choice . . . a truly wing-and-a-prayer decision to call the motor inn. The phone number was on the back of the yellow map. Steve was a great help. The room was clean and of good size. The price was certainly very reasonable. The location is right on the money. The SquireSide Cafe is a true 'find'; and you can be sure we'll be back. Hats off to the housekeeping staff; and to the mustached manager of the Cafe. He is the poster child for hands-on, on-the-ball restaurant management. The Cafe will never be the subject of TVs 'Restaurant Impossible'. Keep up the good work. Barry (May 2013)

We spent last Fri and Sat with you and I want to say it was a wonderful experience. Lovely rooms, quiet, and everyone was so helpful. Think I asked Steve 4 times how to get to York. We will definitely be back again. Very reasonable and relaxing. Debbie (May 2013)

We spent 2 nights at the Country Squire Motor Inn during the last week of September 2012. It was our first trip to Lancaster County and I picked the Country Squire after considering many places in the area. Our choice of staying with them could not have been a better choice!! EVERYTHING was WONDERFUL!! The staff was ALWAYS friendly and VERY helpful. The rooms were clean and the atmosphere of the entire property was perfect. After our arrival, we went to the adjacent SquireSide Cafe to eat. What a treat! The food was MARVELOUS and the staff was GREAT! We ate there 2 more times during our stay and it was EXCELLENT each time. Being an early riser, I went to the cafe for coffee at 6:00 a.m. each morning. There were at least 12-15 local area residents waiting outside to get in promptly at 6:00 a.m. That's definately a sign of a GREAT restaurant! We hope to travel to Lancaster County again and there's no doubt where we'll be staying and eating. The COUNTRY SQUIRE MOTOR INN AND THE SQUIRESIDE CAFÉ! Thank You for making our trip so memorable! We just arrived home from a weekend in your area and want to thank you for your hospitality at your Inn. We have been staying at your establishment for the past several years and want to tell you how nice it is to have a place that is clean, reasonably priced and well cared for. Just returned home from our SECOND trip this yr, (3rd stay) to Pa. I would like to say Lancaster county but its starting to look like it’s THE COUNTRY SQUIRE MOTEL that is the big attraction. Each stay has been so great with the clean rooms, quiet area, great housekeeping staff and MOST important the helpful office staff. They are like a personal tour guide in its self and have been spot on with each suggestion and direction! It is so very comforting to know they are locals and really know the area well,....Steve )lol) We have learned to plan it so we don’t arrive on the day the great Squire Side CAFE is closed to avoid that heartbreak. NEVER EVER WALKED AWAY HUNGRY DISAPPOINTED OR FELT LIKE THEY WEREN'T HAPPY TO HAVE OUR BUSINESS AND THAT THEY DID ALL THEY COULD. Just called to discuss and reserve our room for 2013 and like I said it now feels like my Home Away from Home. Have recommended it to many and too bad for them but it was booked! So, if you’re planning a trip that way remember start with THEM and they will help steer you towards a very enjoyable time.

I have traveled to all but 3 states in my lifetime and needless to say have spent many a nights in motels/hotels. Recently I had the joy of spending time at this motel and I rate this at the top of the list. It was so VERY clean and comfortable as well as decorated so beautiful INSIDE AND OUT. The office personnel was over the top HELPFUL (ESPECIALLY STEVE).He MADE our vacation by helping us map out the best things to see and do with honesty. I MUST bring up the Country Squire Cafe next door.....Oh boy, I would give anything to be back there NOW!!!!! Can’t find not one complaint with either place. I hope others will treat themselves to a visit, I know I’m counting the days till I get back there!!! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL. Debbie (June 2012)

“Great Motel in Lancaster County, PA”

We have been coming to the area for many years, but just discovered this gem last year! We have stayed several times now and always find the staff to be remarkably friendly, the rooms to be impeccably clean and all at a good value. Individual rooms are not oversized, but quiet and comfortable. The location is ideal for our visits. Highly recommended! Room Tip: Ask about the rooms is the adjoining house. Downstairs suite is very nice. (April 2012)

I just wanted to thank you very much for taking such good care of us during the power outage last month. We were able to check in early and the room was excellent. My mother, who is in her 80s, was in need of a warm room and she was so pleased that the everything was so clean, nice and accomodating. Again, thank you for your excellent service. Hey, I have stayed here on business during the last 5 winters, I find it quiet and comfy. The owners are great, they even used a snow blower to get my car out of the parking space when it snowed 22 inches overnight. The restaurant next door is fantastic and there is even a place to do laundry on the other side of the hotel. Robert ‎ - Oct 23, 2011

We stayed at your Inn last weekend. Your rooms are very clean. All personnel was very friendly and helpful. We reserved 3 rooms and everyone was very satisfied. The café was very nice and we had a great breakfast! Thank you! Virginia (October 2011)

Wonderful!!!!

We had a great time. Location is perfect, right in the middle of PA Dutch Country. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are comfortable. We stayed two nights and upon checking in, Steve at the desk was so helpful in planning our visit around the area. The Squire resteraunt next store was great too. We had a light dinner and sundaes!!! Didn't get to try the breakfast this time because they were packed! Will save that for our next visit! We will definately be back!!! Thanks!! (Stayed August 2011, traveled with family)

We have been staying at the Squire every year during NHRA race weekend for about the past 15 years. Clean, reasonable and super friendly staff. As long as I am able to make it to the races this is where I will stay. THANK YOU COUNTRY SQUIRE !!!!!! (May 2011)

I just wanted to compliment you on your wonderful establishment. Five of us girls were on a shopping trip in the Amish county in late July and had lunch at the cafe on Friday July 27 and liked it so much we came back for dinner on Saturday night. We had back to back wonderful meals and service. We had Kate and Katelyn as our waitresses. They were two of the most thoughtful charming waitresses that any of us had ever met. Each of them made our meal a real treat. Thank you for the fantastic atmosphere, food and charming wait staff. We will be back whenever we come to Lancaster County.

First off, Squire Side is such a cute little place to eat! The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is always on top of everything! All of my experiences here have been more than excellent! At Squire Side, the staff is always very kind and thoughtful. I haven't gone once and had to send my food back. The food is always cooked the way you ask, and it's delicious! The prices are fabulous! You always get more food than what you expect! I would definitely recommend this to travelers, and anyone who is looking to go and just have a good time with family and friends! The sandwich menu had several tempting options. In particular I found that the burger option of choosing the type of meat (beef, bison, turkey) was an excellent surprise. I went with the bison quesidilla burger and was absolutely delicious. Desert was another pleasent surprise with the ice cream selection. Keep in mind that when ordering that these aren't chain size scoops, their scoops are softball sized. I went with the funnel cake sundae and must admit I couldn't finsh. But I highly recommend that choice. (September 2012)

We were hear a few years ago with our young grandson and he still talks about his great breakfast. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to the Country Squire Motel. The menu selection is very good and we throughly enjoy the food and atmosphere. We enjoyed this stay as much as the first, and we will definitely be back. (September 2012)

The decor is well done and very comfortable. They offer great breakfast meals and have daily specials. They are very family friendly. Once you've tried it, you'll want to keep going back. (August 2012)

We had breakfast there this morning. SUPER SERVICE, great food. We had a cute little dirty-blonde waitress with a great smile who really took her time to make sure each of her tables were satisfied before they left.

Great family food at a great price

I eat at the Squire Side quite often with my wife and 2 year old son. The food is always excellent, the staff is always friendly and the price is always reasonable. The atmosphere is quaint and family friendly. John

Truly Addicting!

I have been to this shoppe countless times. It's always jammed and it's no wonder. The breakfast is filling and very reasonable. Locals and tourists know a good thing when they eat it. I've been to many a cafe, but this friendly place always calls my name. The portions are big, hot and good. The garden room is a bit noisy and the chairs in there are hard to move, but the rest of the place is a slice of apple pie (or any other.) I love the sandwiches, the chicken wings and the desserts. I felt I was back in the 60's when I saw the sundaes and the prices.This place also does a big take out business. The chili is great and that comes from may Dad who is the pickiest of eaters. The soup is very good as well. My monthy trip to Pa always includes this stop. I never had a problem with service.
